URBAN DESIGN FOR ENVIRONMENTAL HARMONY
As T-COD Architecture, we would like to talk to you about urban design this week. Let's take a look at what urban design is, the stages of urban design and the design conditions it should offer to users.
WHAT IS URBAN DESIGN?
First of all, we would like to talk about what urban design is. It is a design discipline that plays an effective role in urban development, where living spaces are strategic, life-enhancing and applicable. These projects, which have been developed in accordance with strategic planning in order to ensure that both economic and social activities can progress in harmony, are meticulously presented to life by taking into account environmental patterns, economic, social and sectoral activities.
INCREASING QUALITY OF LIFE WITH URBAN DESIGNS
Let's look at how urban designs that aim to increase people's quality of life achieve this together. Urban design should provide users with systems such as green spaces, bicycle paths and parking spaces within the neighborhood texture. Buildings should form an island integrated with the city by creating inner gardens, sitting areas and walking areas. The need for open and closed public spaces within the building block must be met. The minimum size of the social area should be at least 30% of the island. General silhouette rules must be observed. Existing tissue, close tissue, close environment relationship… Solar energy, electric car charging stations, green building etc. The implementation of these systems is also necessary in terms of sustainability. In other words, urban design should add value to the current identity of the neighborhood.
GIVING CITIES UNIQUE IDENTITY AND CHARACTERS
While preparing the project in urban designs implemented in order to obtain designs with quality identities that preserve their visuality;
-Boundaries are set.
-A master plan is prepared by considering the settlement targets.
- Progress is made by considering the transportation, economic and social structures of the region.
-Details are prepared according to the characteristics of the scale to be designed.
-Details such as trash cans and lighting for the streets are carefully measured and designed.
Cities, which have been made much more convenient both visually and systematically, are transformed into original cities that preserve their visuality by being designed in a way that is easy on the eyes but can be accessed at any time.
