RHYTHM IN ARCHITECTURE
As T-Cod Architecture, we would like to tell you about rhythm, one of the design principles of architecture, in today's article. Life has a regular flow. In this flow, rhythm appears in many areas. In literature, music, science and, of course, architecture.
In architecture, gradual and resonant forms create the rhythm, creating a sense of sequence, where the eye can easily glide from one object to another. We can provide the rhythm that provides order and harmony in the established composition with windows opened on the wall or columns. Repetition in rhythm is the simplest way to obtain the rhythm, which is created by the sequence of intervals. We can create rhythm by regularly repeating line, color, texture, pattern, light, scale and proportion. A clear repetition is required with the same or very slight differences in rhythm, a design principle based on repetition. These differences are in colors, shapes, textures, etc. it could be. Although the basis of the rhythm is repetition, it is one of the other methods provided to obtain the rhythm in alternation and continuity. Alternation is used to create rhythm by alternating two or more elements in a regular pattern. These can be various compositions such as ABCABC or ABBABB. The important thing here is that they are always repeated in the same order. Continuity can be achieved by color transitions or the creation of an object that starts small and grows in a certain order. The rhythm created by repetition, alternation and continuity can also be adapted to interior designs. It is an effective element in providing order, attracting attention, creating focus and directing the eye to the space.
With this design principle, which T-Cod also applies in its architectural design and application projects, it is inevitable to create an order and harmony in the building while creating a perceptible perspective in our environment.
