DAYLIGHT IN ARCHITECTURAL PLANNING

                      DAYLIGHT IN ARCHITECTURAL PLANNING

As T-COD Architecture, we would like to talk about the use of natural light in architecture today. Let's take a look at the different and original results that the use of daylight in architectural structures adds to the designs.

Regardless of the type of residence or workplace, light is one of the most important factors for the action to be taken in it. When designing an architectural space, it should be considered as a building element in natural light like artificial light. In order to benefit from natural light in the most correct way during the design phase of architectural structures, it is necessary to aim to bring together the climate of the region, latitude, mass and location of the building, and the light entering the building from the top and sides in the most appropriate way. In this design process, it is necessary to focus more on the structural factors of the building in order to make the most effective use of natural light. The location, form and height of the building are some of these factors. Especially in recent times when energy consumption is one of the most important criteria, it would be a rational and solution-oriented approach to use natural light in architecture. The use of natural light in architecture also creates positive effects on the user. The natural light used in architectural structures gives warmth, comfort, confidence and energy to the users. In order to use natural light at the highest level in architectural structures, the function of the building, openings and indoor reflectors are one of the important factors in determining the amount and direction of daylight that will enter the building. The ratio of the side openings indoors shows how the light will be diffused inside. We can show the Park Joven project in Bilkent/Ankara as an example of this design style where natural light is used at the maximum level by positioning the building so that it receives light from all facades. The spaces created in the building, which was designed based on the star architecture, were designed to receive maximum light from every facade.

Natural light is a tool that has a functional and emotionally binding effect. In architectural buildings, it is necessary to use natural light as a building element, like sophisticated equipment with the possibilities offered by technology.
