THE USE OF TEXTURE AND PATTERN IN INTERIOR DESIGN
This week, T-COD Architecture wants to discuss the use of texture and pattern in interior design, which is critically important in determining the atmosphere and aesthetics of a space. Let's take a look at the impact of texture and pattern, which we frequently use in our designs, on interior spaces.
THE EFFECT OF TEXTURE IN INTERIOR DESIGN
Texture is the appearance and feel of a surface. It is often used to define the feeling of a space. In interior spaces, texture can be achieved with various materials such as wallpaper, fabric, stone, and wood. The use of texture in interior spaces greatly influences the atmosphere of that space.
TYPES OF TEXTURE
If an authentic and warm atmosphere is desired, natural materials such as stone, wool, and cotton can be preferred. Artificial materials such as plastic, polyester, and faux leather can also be used in interior design, or a dynamic design that adds depth to the space can be achieved by combining these natural and artificial materials. Using different textures together is also very effective for creating contrast. Using a single type of texture also creates a single focal point in the space, emphasizing the design.
THE USE OF PATTERNS IN INTERIOR DESIGN
When using patterns in interior design, it's crucial to ensure they harmonize with the rest of the space. Using patterns in interiors can add energy and draw attention to the space. So, what types of patterns can be used in interior design?
TYPES OF PATTERNS
The atmosphere you want to create in the space is very important. For example, for a modern and sophisticated space, geometric patterns incorporating shapes like squares, triangles, and circles should be used. For a more relaxed and natural interior design, patterns inspired by nature, such as leaf and branch patterned wallpapers, should be preferred. Textile patterns are also frequently seen in fabrics. Using textile patterns with a wide variety of styles, such as floral patterns or animal prints, can create a more ethnic atmosphere. This type of design can add personality and character to the space, or a more artistic and creative atmosphere can be created by using abstract patterns without a specific shape or theme.
At T-COD Architecture, we frequently use texture and pattern in our interior design and applications for offices and residences; it's an important element that shouldn't be overlooked in design. By incorporating these elements, which greatly influence the atmosphere and aesthetics of a space, into our designs, we offer our clients dynamic and aesthetically pleasing spaces.
