WITH A MODERN ARCHITECTURAL APPROACH: ZORLU CENTER

WITH A MODERN ARCHITECTURAL APPROACH: ZORLU CENTER

Today, we at T-COD Architecture want to talk about Zorlu Center, a project inspired by famous squares around the world. Let's take a look at the architectural features of Zorlu Center, which holds a significant place in Turkey's culture, art, and social life.

ZORLU CENTER ARCHITECTURE

Zorlu Center, with its modern architectural approach, acts as a bridge at the point where the Asian and European continents meet, bringing together 5 different functions. Featuring 205 stores, a 10,000 m2 main square within a 72,000 m2 landscaped area, and a 12,000 m2 park area, Zorlu Center Shopping Mall stands out with its heated helipad, Raffles Istanbul, various types of residences, green offices, and easy access routes. A mixed-use project with a total indoor area of 693,784 m2, including a hotel, shopping mall, residences, offices, and a performing arts center, Zorlu Center provides visitors with the opportunity to meet many national and international artists in a contemporary setting through its Performing Arts Center (PSM).

ZORLU CENTER WITH MIXED-USE APPROACH

The tower residences, an integral part of the overall project, offer terrace apartments with private gardens and terraces for each home, spacious gardens on the first floor, and Bosphorus views from the upper floors. The 20,000 m² Type A offices are another living space within the project. Located slightly set back from the shopping center, the offices are designed as a buffer floor between the residences and the square. The residences, which begin immediately after the office floor, are equipped with gardens on the first floor and spacious terraces on the upper floors, again thanks to the set-back layout. The Performing Arts Center is also an important part of the project. The only one of its kind in Turkey, capable of hosting all kinds of international shows, the Performing Arts Center boasts a fully equipped main hall with a capacity of 2300 people, a drama theater with a capacity of 740 people, and an entrance amphitheater offering a semi-enclosed space for alternative performances. The shopping center, featuring hundreds of world brands and gourmet restaurants, is another significant part of Zorlu Center.

ZORLU CENTER AWARDS

Zorlu Center, designed by Emre Arolat, has received: • The "Master Planning" (Best Planned Project) jury special award at the Cityscape Dubai Architectural Awards in 2008, • The "Europe and Africa Proper Awards" within the scope of the International Property Awards in 2009, • The first prize in Europe in the Commercial Architecture Award category.
